My first mask was originally meant to be a flat, 2D piece for a Halloween theme entry in the Metalweavers club at http://www.deviantart.com, but once I had it done, I realized I'd made it JUST big enough to fit completely over my face.  From there it took only minutes to make a pair of straps, attach them strategically and that's where my first mask came from.
This one was a simple experiment in rounded shapes to fit faces.
The eyepatch as a last minute addition to a pirate's outfit I wore at TRF 2006.  I love the fact I can still see through it while wearing it. *grin*
This is my other favorite, rivalling the Pumpkin mask. It started out as a sinister piece, then slowed evolved into something more natural as I changed direction partway through building it.  Go figure. *smile*
